Most unsuccessful drugs 'mule', ever, arrested at spaceport:

Arven Taranisinga, regarded by many law enforcement agencies as the most unsuccessful drug smuggler of all time, was arrested by security guards at Canya spaceport after being required to remove his prosthetic arm after entering the pre-flight metal detection archway and tripping the alarm.

The arm, a fully autonomous prosthesis, manufactured on Tika-Eridae, by Avalon Biometics, replaced Taranisinga's own arm when he lost it in a ground vehicle collision after an all night gambling and drinking session at Mossi's Beer Hall, in downtown Ascene, on Muntana - his home world.

Never one to overlook the possibility of increasing the size of his paycheck, Taranisinga decided to pack all of the empty space inside the prosthesis with illicit drugs. Unfortunately, as he entered the metal detection archway at the spaceport, the alarm sounded. According to the security guard on duty that day, he froze, backed out, smiled, removed his jacket, followed by the arm, and tried again. The alarm remained mute. The guard picked up the arm and examined it as a matter of course. Imagine his surprise when two small packs of drugs - later identified as 'Glow-Glow' (similar to ecstacy, we're told) fell out.

Subsequent examination of the arm produced another eighty-seven packets, with a street value - in Earth terms - of seventeen dollars and fifty-eight cents.

Drug smuggling carries an automatic life sentence on Canya. We strongly advise any would be space travelers among our readers to say, 'No', to drugs, or steer clear of airport metal detectors if you have a robotic arm packed with eighteen bucks worth of talc.
