Famous talking 'Kitnik' plant of Alpha Changooli dies.

Kitnik PlantIt is with great sadness that we at SciFi-Babe have to report the demise of the unique and irreplaceable 'Kitnik' plant.

This extraordinary vegetable - the only known example of a talking plant, anywhere in the known universe - succumbed to an especially virulent form of mildew, a few months ago.

Despite the best efforts of the Changooli Department of Agriculture, one of the two leaves, which it used in conjunction with the long tubular growth, to which they were attached, to talk, finally withered and fell off.

"It was just like any other vegetable after that," Darin Sloo, a C.D.A. spokesman said. "There was no point leaving it there to feel sorry for itself." He smiled, knowingly, and added, "Tasted pretty good, actually."

Genetic cloning is outlawed on Changooli, so, unfortunately, no attempt can be made to try and save this unusual aberration from disappearing from the universe's gene pool. SciFi-Babe would like to go on record as saying we hope Darin Sloo's DNA also disappears from the gene pool, too... And, soon!
